WHERE ARE YOU?
Chicago, IL

WHAT'D YOU DO TODAY?
Packed up and said our goodbye to Ray and our airbnb home (it’s been fun).

Mornin' beans at my favorite coffee spot in Chicago, Nighthawk. After about an hour, we made our way over to O’Hare International to pick up our dear friend, KATE! Stars aligned and our time in Chicago coincided with her scheduled visit with her family.

Dropped off all our stuff at her dad’s place and walked over to a nearby Mexican restaurant for some tacos, burritos, and nachos (feelin’ risky with our food choices).

Waddled back to our new Chicago base where I got to relive my childhood with some Harry Potter blasting in the background as we typed + worked away.

Drove over to Montrose Beach to catch the sunset and see allllll the dogs.

Ran + played around the sand.

Named some pups.

Also couldn’t stop talking about how the world looked something out of a Wes Anderson film.

Eventually went home to shower and then ended the night for a quick, late night grocery run.

HOW YAH FEELIN?
Despite washing up, pretty sure I’m still covered in sand + other questionable things, but I'm content.

Art Institute of Chicago with Kate + her Grandma. Also interview. Two very exciting things on our agenda tomorrow.

barker, barkley, and bear

Chicago

WHAT'D YOU DO TODAY?
KATE DAY! We picked up Kate from the airport today and made our way to her pop’s house.

Headed to lunch at a nearby place and then hung out and watched Harry Potter until sunset.

At sunset we made our way to the dog beach (the only dogless people there). We got to dip in the water a bit and Sam and I played our best game of frisbee yet, I’m so proud of us.

Once the sun was down we headed to another part of the park where you can see a perfect view of the Chicago skyline in the night sky <3

Made our way back home and had a mellow, at home, sleepy night.

HOW YAH FEELIN?
Sleepytown.

WHERE ARE YOU?
up north for a change

WHAT'D YOU DO TODAY?
Hasta lavista, Ray!

Hit up Nighthawk to see our good ol’ pal, the sweetest of barista we’ve met yet. Just for a minute though because we had to pick up KATE. <3 I missed this lady, so very much. We dropped stuff at her dad’s place which is DOPE. Lots of trains, even more CDs. We grabbed Mexican food which literally filled me so full, walking home was soooo hard, I almost couldn’t move. So we didn’t. We spent the afternoon watching some soccer and Harry Potter and working on journals and then headed over to Montrose Beach to catch the sunset at the dog park. SO GOOD. Watched dogs, played soccer, Dana and I got good at frisbee all of a sudden, and we waded out into Lake Michigan. Once it was dark we ran over to check out the skyline and it was so hard not to dive in. Especially since I was covered head to toe in sand (I told you Dana and I got good at frisbee). Such a beautiful evening. Ended it watching the end of the last Harry Potter.

HOW YAH FEELIN?
I’m in tentative headache zone. Which spooks me. I don’t have time for this. I think we were all super groggy this afternoon which wasn’t great, but seeing Kate and our evening at the park was so fun and really woke me up. It was kind of like pulling myself out of a well and forcing myself to get moving, but it was worth it.
